THE JOURNEY

Black-capped bluebirds, white-headed gulls, five-colored birds, sparrows, cuckoos in green-eyed or summer migratory birds, as well as winter migratory birds such as red-tailed gulls, blue-tailed gulls, yellow-tailed gulls, and Grey-faced buzzard eagles are passing over the Bagua mountain range in greater numbers. This is a major annual bird watching event of Changhua County, as well as the best field trip opportunity to learn how preservation work is done for the birds and their habitats. 

These big migrations resemble the route of the sailing ships that have commercial exchanges with Taiwan. I make this installation as a celebration for these long journeys and the symbolism of determination and wonder that they hold.
